Management Accountant and Payroll Manager – Abingdon - £45,000 -£50,000 – Office based (flexible hours)
Wade Macdonald are delighted to exclusively partnering this exciting and innovative Organisation with their search for a talented Management Accountant and Payroll Manager.
The role will sit within a small and dedicated Finance Function and will provide pivotal support to the Financial Controller through and a period of transformation and progression.
The Role
The role has the primary responsibility for preparing the annual salaries budget as well as day to day management of the Organisation’s payroll including liaising with the external payroll partners and HR during the month.
In addition, the role will assist the Financial Controller with the analysis of overheads and the control of expenditure to budgets.
Key role functions:
- To manage the ongoing monthly preparation and reconciliation of the payroll, reporting variances to budget and production of a monthly salary costs latest estimate and annual budget.
- Ensuring all payroll related annual returns/declarations and required reconciliations are submitted by due dates.
- Working very closely with the HR team to ensure all pay related changes are accurately reflected in the monthly payroll.
- Assisting staff who have payroll queries.
- Seeking to improve and streamline the payroll process.
- Preparation of the termly latest estimates for salary costs, utilities and other overheads as required.
- To pro-actively look and analyse all expenditure areas and explore all possibilities of cost reduction, including preparing proposals for implementation.
- To assist in the negotiation of supply contracts. Eg utilities and ongoing maintenance and servicing contracts.
- To assist with the month end analysis and preparation of balance sheet monthly reconciliations leading to the production of the monthly accounts pack for management.
- Supervision of Fixed Asset register preparation and reconciliation.
- To assist in the annual budget preparation.
- To provide cover for the Financial Controller when required.
